Khanmigo

Khanmigo is Khan Academy's flagship AI assistant, built on GPT-4 but strictly governed by pedagogical principles. Unlike standard LLMs that might just do your homework, Khanmigo acts as a Socratic coach.

Student Experience

• Guided Problem Solving: Instead of giving the solution, it asks, "What do you think the first step is?" to guide the student's logic.
• Literary Conversations: Chat with AI-powered versions of historical figures or literary characters to deepen understanding.
• Safe Environment: Features built-in guardrails for schools, ensuring interactions remain academic and appropriate.

Best for: K-12 students who need a tutor that helps them learn rather than just providing the answer.
